Nature and scope

The post is Assistant National Manager, reporting to the National Delivery Team Manager.

Your particular contribution to the overall process will be to assist in the management of a team of field-based Optical Technicians and Dispensing Opticians ensuring they deliver a high quality patient experience.

The Regional Delivery Team Manager will be expected to ensure tight operational controls are understood and adhered to. You will flourish in a target driven environment and enjoy being measured and rewarded against benchmarked standards of performance. The post holder will have excellent communication, time management, organisational skills, demonstrating an empathetic understanding of the needs of the organisation and workforce.

This role will require some travel throughout the UK with occasional nights away.

Activities of the role

  • 3 days working at Head Office, 2 days in the field.
  • Deputise for the National Delivery Team Manager.
  • Manage the day–to-day activities of the team in the field.
  • Be an example of what others should aspire to achieve in terms of patient satisfaction and performance levels.
  • Capture evidence based operational data and ensure that this is forwarded appropriately.
  • Carry out field-based observations ensuring compliance of our clinical governance program.
  • Ensure that appropriate lines of communication are maintained with other departments.
  • Be responsible for the performance of the team productivity targets and KPI's.
  • Working closely with all Departments to solve patient issues.
  • Needs to understand Optician’s and Dispensing Optician’s working practices, problems and development requirements.
  • Maintain high standards at all times of personal appearance, timekeeping, attendance and respect of company and patient property.
  • To understand and adhere at all times to Company Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Operate in line with Company policies and procedures.
  • Committing to the Company belief of "always do what is right for the patient".
  • Any other reasonable requests that may be made from time to time.

Skills and Capabilities

  • A record of achievement in a similar targeted orientated role.
  • Some business management experience.
  • Commercially aware and able to achieve Company set targets.
  • The drive to develop a profitable and successful team contributing to the business
  • Experience of interpreting data, KPI and Internal Standards reports.
  • Ability to identify performance issues and offer solutions to ensure a successful outcome.
  • Able to work under pressure whilst ensuring that deadlines and targets are met.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Confident about working in a role where your actions directly influence others.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong desire to succeed in an environment where success is rewarded and a work/life balance is strived for.

Package:

  • Salary: £30,000 plus, depending on experience.
  • Company Car: £3,500 p.a.
