The Outside Clinic is registered with the General Optical Council (GOC), the professional body with statutory powers to regulate the industry and we are bound in all aspects of our work by the provisions of the Opticians’ Act and Orders and abide by the Council’s Rules and Regulations.
The Council’s statutory Rules cover business and clinical matters including sight testing, prescribing, fitting of spectacles and lenses and the necessity for continuing education and training of professional staff (CET). In the provision of our goods and services, we abide by legislation that protects the interests of the consumer.
We acknowledge our legal duty to keep information confidential and keep records about individual patients in accordance with legislation laid down in the Access to Health Records Act and the Data Protection Act. For further information please click on the links on the right of this page.
