To be responsive to the optical health needs of those patients and clients who are unable to access High Street optical services.

Our aims are to...

  • Identify and establish eligibility to protect the NHS purse.
  • Arrange appointments within acceptable time frames and at the request and recommendation of Healthcare Professionals.
  • Achieve quality and equality in all aspects of our provision of service.

We will do this by...

  • Appointing ophthalmic professionals who are experienced and skilled in their profession and empathic to this vulnerable client group.
  • Supporting our Healthcare Professionals with the equipment, documentation and information to carry out their job to the best of their ability.
  • Enabling our clients and those that care for them to have access to all relevant information.
  • Carrying out General Ophthalmic Services as required by the Opticians Act and Department of Health Terms of Service.
  • Gain feedback from all parties to evaluate and monitor the service, implementing improvements and updates when necessary.
  • Integrating and developing any and all Governance directives through PCT's, Community Care and Social Services as and when applicable.
